Copyright & DMCA Policy

How to report content that infringes your copyright, what we do about it, and what we cannot do because it lives on-chain.

Last updated: August 2026

1. What This Policy Covers

Bad Place respects copyright and responds to properly submitted notices of claimed infringement. This policy applies to content we host on our own infrastructure: token logos and images, AI-generated media, BadLine posts and comments, profile images and banners, and community media.

It does not apply to on-chain data. Token contracts, transactions and any data written to BNB Chain are outside our control and cannot be edited, reversed or deleted by us or by anyone else. Where an infringement involves an on-chain asset, the most we can do is remove the off-chain material we host and stop surfacing that asset in our interfaces.

2. Submitting a Takedown Notice

Send notices to abuse@badplace.io with the subject line beginning “DMCA.” To be actionable, a notice must include all of the following:
  • A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner, or a person authorised to act on their behalf
  • Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed
  • Identification of the material claimed to be infringing, with enough detail for us to locate it — a direct URL, token address, or post link
  • Your name, mailing address, telephone number and email address
  • A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law
  • A statement that the information in the notice is accurate, and under penalty of perjury, that you are authorised to act on the owner's behalf

Incomplete notices cannot be processed. We will tell you what is missing rather than act on a defective notice.

3. What We Do With a Notice

  • We review the notice for completeness and act on valid notices without undue delay, typically within a few business days
  • We remove or disable access to the identified off-chain material
  • We notify the user who posted it and forward a copy of the notice, including the identifying information it contains
  • We record the action against the account for the purposes of our repeat infringer policy

We do not adjudicate ownership disputes. Where the parties disagree, the counter-notice process below is the route, and ultimately the courts.

4. Counter-Notice

If your content was removed and you believe it was a mistake or a misidentification, you may send a counter-notice to the same address. It must include:
  • Your physical or electronic signature
  • Identification of the removed material and where it appeared before removal
  • A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed as a result of mistake or misidentification
  • Your name, address and telephone number, and a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the courts where you reside, or where our provider is located if you are outside the United States, and that you will accept service of process from the party who filed the notice

We forward valid counter-notices to the original complainant. If they do not file a court action within the statutory period, we may restore the material. Restoration is only possible for off-chain content that still exists in our storage.

5. Repeat Infringers

Accounts that accumulate repeated, substantiated infringement notices are terminated. Termination removes access to the account and its social identity. It does not, and cannot, affect the user's wallet or any on-chain asset — we hold no key material and have no such power.

6. Misuse of This Process

Knowingly making a material misrepresentation in a notice or counter-notice carries liability for damages, including costs and legal fees, under 17 U.S.C. §512(f). We keep records of notices received and may decline to act on notices from a party with a pattern of abusive filings.
